Review: How To Choose A WordPress Theme
This article, How To Choose A WordPress Theme, showed up from Smashing Magazine.
I like how it begins: “Economists have taught us that a lot of choice is not always a good thing. Having many options can lead to ‘analysis paralysis’ and a feeling of being overwhelmed, due to the increased effort required and the level of uncertainty in making the right choice.”
To keep you on their website, they offer these additional links:

The “How to Choose…” article discusses Free Vs. Premium WordPress Themes, with the pros and cons of each.
It also talks about speed, design, and user experience. It also mentions security, SEO and “responsiveness,” which should be a given in any theme.
Something that is near and dear to my heart is “ease of customization,” but this article gives it only one paragraph about the dashboard/control panel.
This is a quick read unless you get pulled into the other links from that website.
Bottom Line
This is a good place to begin to learn about theme reviews because it talks about what to look. It’s not touting one particular theme or theme reseller.
